Karoonda, Aboriginal for 'winter camp' is located in the middle of the Murray Mallee region of South Australia . The town grew dramatically, once the railway arrived to serve the surrounding agricultural area which is noted for its fine merino sheep and crops of wheat and barley. Today, Karoonda is a tourist hub offering accommodation, dining and things to see & do.
