Climate Tech.

Hey Google... Siri... Alexa...
Plastyk were engaged to design and create an Internet Of Things (IoT) system so an end-user (homeowner) can control their air conditioning system via the internet when at home, or away, using a smartphone app on iOS or Android devices.

The Mission

One of Australia's leading manufacturers of heating and cooling appliances, Climate Technologies required a way to remotely control their appliances for home user input together with a website for Climate Technologies to administer .

The Outcome

Plastyk created middleware to integrate a Smartphone app with the end users (home owner) appliance and to design and create an Internet Of Things (IoT) application that end-users could control their air conditioning system via the internet when at home, or away, using a smartphone app on iOS or Android devices.

The Impact

Home owners are now able to control their air conditioning remotely, the client is able to help trouble shoot issues with home owners.

What is the Internet of Things (IoT)

Simply put, this is the concept of connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and/or to each other). This includes everything from mobile phones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of.

The IoT is a massive network of connected 'things'. Its the digital relationship between people-people, people-things, and things-things. IoT allows for virtually endless opportunities and connections to take place, many of which we can't even think of or fully understand the impact of today.
